DOSAGES OF TRAMADOL SHOULD BE GIVEN AS FOLLOWS

The Dosage of tramadol depends upon various factors like Age, The level of severity, and a person’s medical history.

To reduce the possibility of side effects, your doctor may advise you to begin this medication at a low dose and gradually increase it. Pay close attention to your doctor’s instructions. The maximum recommended daily dose is 100 milligrams. The maximum recommended dose for people over the age of 75 is 300 milligrams per day. Do not increase your dose, take it more frequently, or take it for a longer period of time than prescribed. When instructed, discontinue the medication.

Take this medication by mouth as prescribed by your doctor, usually every 4 to 6 hours for pain relief. You can take this medication with or without food. If you have nausea, taking this medication with food may help. Immediate Discharge 

Chronic: 25 mg orally every morning at first, then 25-50 mg/day every 3 days, up to 50-100 mg orally every 4-6 hours as needed; no more than 400 mg/day.

Acute: 50-100 mg oral dose every 4-6 hours as needed; maximum daily dose is 400 mg.

Dose for Extended-Release

To begin, take 100 mg orally once daily; gradually increase by 100 mg every 5 days; do not exceed 300 mg/day. To convert from immediate to extended-release, round the total daily dose down to the nearest 100 mg. Not to be chewed, crushed, split, or dissolved.
